“A great opportunity for kids to put down their screens and reconnect with nature”
Live Wire Park is passionate about delivering a very unique experience for school groups of all ages, whilst recharging the human spirit and connecting people with nature.
While the park is known for its physical challenges, we also incorporate elements of team building, native flora and fauna information, and sustainability education.
At the bottom of the page, you’ll find our school group pricing and activities (we offer a 25% discount for school groups as well as teachers attending free of charge).
You’ll also find our Certificate of Currency, Risk Management Document as well as our staff Working With Children Checks.
Live Wire Park is Australia’s first outdoor adventure park that is completely powered by nature. We take student groups through core sustainability principles and how we implemented them in the building of the park to ensure we have a minimal impact on the environment.
We discuss our photovoltaic off grid system and how by harnessing solar energy, we’ve managed to use a 5.4 kW Solar Array which charges a battery bank, which in turn powers the entire park.
We explain our water cycle management plan and the systems in place to capture water on-site, negating the need for mains water.
We also touch on treating waste onsite through self-composting toilets and recycling grey water.
We teach students about the Otway forest we call home. It’s a temperate rainforest with a dense biodiversity. There are several species of trees and plants with some towering Blue Gum Eucalypts over 150 years old.
Our crew will discuss the native wildlife that makes it’s home in our adventure park. While it can’t be guaranteed, we’re frequently visited by koalas, wombats and kookaburras.
While it may look like the students are just scaling trees, swinging on ropes and flying through the air on our Tarzan Swing, there’s a lot more going on during the high ropes courses.
In safe outdoor spaces like Live Wire Park, children can find some freedom away from direct adult supervision, learning how to take turns, to pick themselves up then they fall and to become independent and self-reliant.
Encouraging children to try activities they might be a little afraid of helps them to become more confident and self-assured. They also get rid of built up energy, enabling them to become calmer and more focused in the classroom.
Our activities are the ultimate group bonding experience, bringing students into a whole new setting, away from a sometimes stressful and familiar environment.
At Live Wire Park children naturally come out of their shells and become more social, playing together, encouraging one another, talking to different children and making new friends.
